Well x is given to you so multiply x (13) times .55 then add 7 and you have the answer for y.

Hi

This is quite simple. All you need to do is replace the x in the equation with the rate given in the question.

So,

y (hourly wage) = 0.55x + 7

= 0.55 * 13 + 7

= 7.15 + 7

= 14.15

So the hourly rate is $14.15 p/h

Hope that helps

S14.15 Fill in 13 for x, then solve the equation (multiply and add 7).

Just insert 13 into the formula for the variable x.
You get y=0.55(13)+7
Multiply 0.55 by 13, then add 7 and you get y=14.15

For increasing cubic binomials the final formulation is as follows: (a + b) ^ 3 = a^3 + 3*a^2*b^a million + 3*a^a million*b^2 + b^3 on your case, a is x and b is -y^5 So (x - y^5)^3 = x^3 + 3*x^2*(-y^5)^a million + 3*x^a million*(-y^5)^2 + (-y^5)^3 Simplified: =x^3 - 3x^2*y^5 + 3x*y^10 - y^15 :D
