Football (soccer for those who don't know better). There is such passion that is invoked in a football stadium. We have the best fans, and it is the sport that the world plays. Any place you go outside the U.S., you will see little boys playing in the streets imitating their favorite player. When you are in that stadium and you see your team score a goal, you celebrate it just the same as if you were on that field. There is no other sport with such tradition and history than football (baseball comes in second) Also, for one month every four years, football brings more peace to the world than any other politician would ever bring to this planet.

Both, for different reasons, but they are completely different sports. It's like comparing baseball to basketball -- there's little in common. American football is much more like rugby than euro football.

soccer is not for nancy's. my coach broke more than 20 bones over his time playing soccer, and he never even went pro where it really gets physical. my grandfather is a retired doctor who loves football. he told he had a patient who was a semi-pro of soccer. he told me he had never had a patient who had so many bruises, scratches and injuries of the sort. soccer is better and requires more talent to play. most football players just need to be big to block the opposing tackler. the only exceptions are the quarterbacks and running players. other than that it takes just brute not brains.
soccer is not a sport u can just lift some wieghts and play. it takes years to get to the right combination of physical and technical skills to be good. i know, cause i've played both sports.

I'm not a huge fan of either, but soccer is still much more entertaining than American football. My favorite to watch is baseball though.
