For a quick fix, try peppermint oil topically on the abdomen and around the ears and neck -- 3-4 drops in your hands, rub them together, rub your tummy, then your ears and the back of your neck. If you have sensitive skin, dilute it with a little olive oil. Essential oils may be photosensitive, so watch sun and/or tanning booth exposure. A long-term solution should be able to be achieved through homeopathy. Check the NASH (North America Society for Homeopaths) web site (if you're in the states) for a homeopath near you.

I noticed after I started driving myself (this was about 20 years ago), that I didn't get carsick as much. I realized that when you are a passenger, if you look out the side windows as the car is moving, you are more likely to feel ill. Try only looking straight ahead. Also, don't read in the car or turn backwards too much (i.e. - if you are in the front seat, don't keep turning around to talk to the people in the back). If you are getting sick even if you are only sitting and looking out the front window, perhaps you need the same type of remedies sold to prevent sea-sickness.

Well if you are driving roll the windows down let fresh air blow on your face. There really isnt enough motion in a car to get motion sickness. You need to not think about it so much, I suggest putting in your favorite cd or tape and jam out it will relax you and you will keep your mind off the ride. Or you can get some Ginger Root capsules they sell them at Walmart for under $5 they help with motion sickness and it wont make you sleepy like dramamine will.

Always ride in the front and look out the front windows, never the side windows. Do not read, this is the worse as your eyes try to focus on the book and the motion of the car makes it worse. Drinking tonic water, or ginger ale helps. Also eating soda crackers. Also try Dramamine, they now have a non-drowsy version. It always worked for me and I had horrible car sickness.

Car sickness is a form of motion sickness that is caused by excessive, uneven, rhythmic motion in a car. Some doctors say this malady is caused by motion's effect on the labyrinths of the inner ear, but many other factors can bring on motion sickness. In humans, car sickness can be caused by smells and odors, physical discomfort, unsanitary conditions, suggestion, and fear. Car sickness can not always be cured in humans. The standard method for combating motion sickness in humans is to give Dramamine before the onset of the symptoms.

Take many short rides, or practise being in the car for a short time, and then make them longer and longer. My dog had car sickness and the doctor said if you just take him out for short rides and gradually make them longer, he will get used to it. So what we did in the beginning was take him on a ride to the gas station, and then made the trips longer and longer. Before this, he used to throw-up because of car sickness.

motion sickness is caused by your brains confusion of seeing the world around you move, but the interior of the car (boat, etc) is not moving.

in time you'll adjust, but for now try not to look out the window. look only inside the car

I used to get automobile ill clone of that, each and every of the time. each and every time I did, I cracked open a window and regarded instantly ahead. sparkling air helped. yet, now i do not get carsick because i can force now. believe me, once you're the driver your automobile affliction would not hardship you back! P.S. I propose no longer examining or playing video games contained in the motorized vehicle... dull, i comprehend, yet it is what continually made me the most ill.

Or watch the horizon. If you are not driving, of course. This also works for motion sickness on a boat.

Have you had your eyes tested? I'm not saying this to be ha-ha-funny, I would get woozy with motion until I realized I hadn't had my eyesight checked in years. I needed glasses. I miss not wearing them, but it's a whole lot better being able to SEE!
