Actually, Animals can be gay. Animals might be animals, but they have feelings and emotions like we do. They talk, and came make friends among each other and experience things we do. Thing is, they are not educated as we are and act like...animals!

Yes Animals can be gay. In fact, my boyfriends dog is lesbian. She's been put with boy dogs and not once has she been attracted to any of them. However, with girl dogs...you can imagine what happens.

People think they can't be gay, but they can. And, even if I had a gay animal, I'd still love them like a good owner would.

If you define gay as homosexual in the sense that one member of a species is involved in intimate contact with another member of the same species of the same anatomical sex, then yes, it does occur in the animal kingdom. Just look up the "gay" penguins at the Central Park Zoo. In terms of whether or not animals engage in homosexual intercourse with one another i.e. anal penetrative sex between males, I don't know. But, males often mount and attempt to copulate with one another as well as two females mounting each other. This happens all the time in pigs, cattle, rats. There are well documented occurences of "lesbian" seagulls who build nests together. So, yes, I agree. P.S. I am a grad student in reproductive physiology, so you can judge the accuracy of this info.

No, but often people confuse animal behaviors as sexual acts. For instance, ducks, cats, monkeys, etc. from the same group groom each other. It's a mutual act that benefits all in the community as well as the individual from a health stand point. It's not sexual.

I'm not sure if there are animals who are entirely homosexual, though there are records of girafes being bisexual along with rams, and I think penguins aswell. To really answer your question, human beings are clasified as animals, since we are animals and some human beings do become day, the answer is yes. Animals can become homosexual.

There are many documented, video-taped examples of homosexuality in nature. Yes, it seems odd because living things should reproduce and have an urge to pass on genes and further the species... BUT humans are living things/animals too and many humans are homosexual and doomed to never reproduce and never pass on their genes to the next generation.

The answer is YES. Watch the Discovery channel, people. Some monkeys are. And some insects as well. I am sure there are more examples.

that seems really strange to me..... animals have more of an innate desire to procreate. seems like humans are the only species that would have sex for recreation not for the purpose of creating life. for lack of a better way to say it , seems to go against the very core of nature. (my of my best friends is gay, maybe I'll see what he thinks)

When there's no female around, yes. I had a duck one time that used to nail the other male. We got him a female and he was happy as a pig in slop.
