Hi, SHIRAZ, thanks for your input but if you have nothing to say I would suggest it is you that shuts up. Unlike in many muslim countries people are still free to say whatever they wish even if you do not want to hear it.

$hadow, I really don't see how you can imply you can't compare the two. It is quite simple - two armed forces one deliberately targeting civilians indiscriminately, the other trying to target their armed opponents.

Buzzy, Boy have you got me wrong! I am a supporter of Israel generally and I bnelieve Israel has a right to existence, though I'm unsure if Israel is tactrically doing the right thing to try to eliminate Hezbollah. So no, I'm not another blame America and cut and run coward.
Hi Hibee, Yes Israel was partly formed thru the actions of Jewish terrorists who dis horrible things such as skinning British soldiers alive. Israels past wrongs don't excuse Arabic/Islamic current wrongs.

tridentoftime, I share to some extent your reservations over the military tactics of Israel, but I think the motivations are different. There is plenty of evidence that Hezbollah thinks it is a success to kill innocent civilians - just watch Arabic television.

I'd say another difference is that Israel isn't sucking at Hezbollah's teat like they are ours. And does Olmert have proof they think it's a success or is that propaganda?

I don't care if they do think it's a mistake or not, they should stop throwing cluster bombs on apartment complexes, just like Hezbollah should stop shooting rockets into marketplaces.

Israel seem to be making a lot of "mistakes" then.

All the worlds conflicts are just neighbour's squabbles that are on a much larger scale.

Some people get on very well with neighbours, some don't.
If you don't get on with the neighbours, you can move house.

The problem is; you can't move a country !

I think it is a lie. Even the Israeli armed forces are concerned over their orders to deliberately target civilians and are intentionally missing their targets (see link below).
