My great uncle past away last month. He was married into our family and has been married to my great aunt for 47 years. Upon his death we learned he had a previous marriage. Tragicly he lost his first wife in an accident after only 4 years of marriage. Well, when his first wife past away he bought himself a plot beside her so that he could be buried next to her. After 47 years of marriage to my aunt, he wished to be buried beside is first wife. Our family was a little shocked by his decision, but truely loved and respected him. My great aunt has alzheimer's disease and really isn't too coherent. So the family isn't sure if she is or was aware of this situation. Although I respect his decision to be buried where he chooses, it got me to thinking. I pray I never have to deal with a situation like this. But if I did, what would I do? What would be right? To be respectful of the spouses that were so loved? Any thoughts?
