Oliver Stone's new film about the World Trade Center carries the tag line:
"It was the defining moment of our generation."

What should we take that to mean? Is he correct?
Which generation is he talking about, and what was the definition that the World Trade Center attack provided?

Which was the actual definition: the attack, or the response?

A generation of non-thinkers. Those too busy in their own little space to worry about what is going on in the world. They will accept anything thrown their way without much questioning. They are willing to let the media think for them about world events. They just don't have time themselves. Too busy talking on their cell phones about absolutely nothing important. They read something on the Internet and take it for Gospel without investigating anything themselves. They have been given too much by their Boomer parents and have no real values of their own. A waisted generation who only believe in themselves and have a very rude awakening coming. Only thing is, momma and daddy won't be there to bale them out any more.

Just as Pearl Harbor defined the WW2 era, so the 9/11 attack is the first shots fired in WW3.

I didn't know Oliver Stone was the one making the WTC film.

I don't think you can lump all of the species through out history as one generration. I think that this will play out to be the first defining moment in the lives of the Mellenial Generation

This generation is anyone alive and thinking during the attack.
Both the attack and response are part of this generation.
and yes, he is right (although I despise the guy)...Nothing else will show the beginning of WW3 more than 9/11.

My interpretation is that today's generation is all "UP-IN-SMOKE", and their generation's physical "STRUCTURE IS NOT FIRM." Similar to guys wearing their pants below their bottoms.
