I hope you have gone in labor by now. If you haven't though I've tried everything I could. The blue cohlash though I haven't tried because I've heard to many bad things about it. I ate 7 whole fresh pineapples, under ripe papaya (Nasty), Evening pinrose oil, walking, sex, exercise, and anything else I've heard. I know you worry that you'll be induced, but really and truly if you relax you may just go on your own. I hope you have a wonderful birth.

My suggestion would be to tell your doctor that you wish to wait to go into labor naturally. It will happen. Too many women nowadays think that the suggestions of the Doctor are the law, bottom line is this is your body and your baby and the Doctor wants to induce for convenience. You do have the right to stand up for yourself and your baby and say no. Its been my experience that an induction will take much longer because your body is not yet ready. I wish I would have been strong enough to stand up for myself back then.
You can also go med free if you want to. I have had 3 children (37 hour labor- 7lb 5 oz baby- 2 weeks 3 days "late"- hospital induction but no pain meds or epidural, 16 hour labor- 7lbs 15ozs- 3 weeks early- emergency induction no pain meds or epidural, 5 hour labor- 7lb 10oz- Born on due date at home, no drugs, no interference most wonderful experience in my life)

There is a way to be induced w/o have chemicals pumped into your bloodstream. I was a month over due and didn't want the normal Ptosin. There is a thing called Cervadil. It's something that is placed in the cervix and doen't enter the bloodstream, it only influences the cervix. It works great and isn't as harsh as the Ptosin and doen't effect the baby!!

Sometimes nothing works but the chemically induced labors. I was induced with all 3 of my kids. I tried to get labor started on its own but nothing worked for me. Here is a few things you could try but not saying they would work for you.
Eat a whole fresh pineapple.
Walk alot
Have sex
Castor Oil~ Not highly recommended. It is very nasty and if taken before your body is ready can cause your baby to have a bowl movement before he/she is born
Eating Eggplant Parmesan

I've always been told to do yard work... Planting, rotating soil..walking.. etc..just getting down and doing some work..or exercise.
I can understand he wants to get him out on the 18th, once they get past 41-42 weeks th body can't support baby like it should and the baby starts to suffer.
But, don't worry the Ptossin (spelling?) they use to induce doesn't effect baby at all, it just softens the cervix and move things along.
Hang in there girl! You can do it, and God bless!

Tell your doctor and he'll try to see what he can do...he'll probably advise a homeopathic way to induce labor(you're not going to get aroung inducing unless the baby comes out on it's own),there are lots of different herbs you can take that are natural and will cause you to go into labor.

first of all you need to determine you decide on an OB/midwife that helps your judgements... each and every thing from birthing recommendations, bring about or no longer, breastfeeding, etc. that's your first step, because of the fact in case you decide on a organic beginning yet your rfile is leaning in direction of induction and an epidural, then you definitely at the instant are not likely to acheive your objectives... an excellent sort of girls circulate "previous due" with their pregnancies, and that i think of this is basically because of the fact we decide directly to apply a mathematical equation to be sure whilst a new child would desire to come, fairly than letting the ladies's physique come to a decision. i think of inducing a women folk isn't the main suitable decision, yet in emergencies or intense subject is a mandatory evil. the main suitable thank you to "start up" hard artwork, if your physique is waiting is with actual interest. you do no longer ought to stress approximately this until eventually you're 38-40 weeks, yet walking on an known basis, having intercourse, taking the steps, cleansing your domicile, etc. Your physique has to coach for hard artwork so by utilising getting up and getting lively, you're assisting the toddler to descend and assisting your physique "get waiting" for hard artwork. so some distance as intense blood rigidity or gestational diabetes... that may no longer be as ordinary to administration, yet you will desire to observe what you're ingesting and how you handle your self for the time of being pregnant... heavy lifting, stress, etc. solid success!

You don't need to have it put into your blood stream. I had the gel inserted up by me cervix. I had it done twice...made my water break...but no labour...I did end up having oxytocin to start the contractions...but I was being induced aobut 8 days early due to a complication...It may be better if you are closer to your due date. Sometimes its your only option. Tell your Dr that you want to wait...they can let you go up until 2 weeks after your due date. But remember...you can't always follow a birth plan.

Do a lot of walking and light exercising. Some times the baby can be vary stubborned and that makes it hard for natural labor.
If you have a partner try making love a few times a day that dose help with the whole birthing.

Listen to your doctor. Once you get past a certain time of your past due date, the placenta and waters start to change which isnt healthy for the baby. Ive done it twice and have four children. I was just relieved to have the baby out!!! My first son was induced 2 weeks early because of his size. If Ptosin wasnt safe they wouldnt administer it.
