Good question. Simple answer. Its all in the perception. A bikini is perceived as swimwear so its appropriate to wear it in the pool or at the beach and also when you are trying to show off your figure as in a beauty contest. It is a minimalistic costume but still its perceived as a costume. Bra and panty are perceived as underwear. So it is okay to wear them only in privacy or if you were modelling for them. Another example, a knee length slip looks the same as a skirt but you wouldn't wear it instead of a skirt, right?

That's a good question because lots of bikinis cover less skin than a bra and panties cover. Maybe it's because when we put on a bikini we are usually going somewhere and we know we will be seen in it. You don't normally leave the house in just a bra and panties so if someone sees you it startles you because you aren't expecting it.

The suggestive next step is total nudity when encountering a girl in bra and panties. (guys point of view) . A bikini ......I can't complete my thoughts on this....I'm getting confussed. Sorry. I do know that I like them both.

It is totally a psychological thing. Really, sometimes bras and panties are more modest! Isn't Bras and Panties just glorified underwear!

i think part of the issue is setting and part of the issue is scenerio.
the bra and panty deal seems to have a stigma attached to it because of the idea that sex is somehow attached.
But, you are correct...as a society, we are stupid to treat these any differently. America is very old fashioned when it comes to a civilized country and its stance on the nude body.
what ever the case...they are both very appealing when worn by the correct people!

that is not any more effective than a acceptance and the infantile minds of prudish human beings. next we will have the idea police checking women human beings's bras contained in the line, to be particular that none are wearing a "events Bra" at the same time as no longer extremely playing recreation. that is in hardship-free words "smutty" because some human beings like it to be that way. next the measuring tape will come out to ascertain that you have not too a lot cleavage showing.

One of those silly things society conditions us to think, that underwear is not to be seen in public and bikinis are. And that underwear can show things when wet, and bikinis aren't supposed to ;)

probably b/c society has us think that "underwear" are not meant to be seen by all but a bathing suit, obviously, is a public outfit. i understand though that obviously it's not like you are showing anything extra. it's weird.
