no not at all . although you would be better with LCD as the life span is much longer than a plasma. Also a plasma is designed for viewing from a distance so unless you have a large living room the picture quality can be bad

get a lcd tv the plasma tv only has about 10000 hrs of life span

Nope. That's not true at all. I got my new 42-inch plasma screen today - it's great - can't get over the quality of it.

yes because its got gas inside which needs to be recharge every 5 or 10 years depends on the modell,that is why there are so cheap.

as far as i am aware this is true! I would probably buy an LCD television they seem to be hd ready also
