I liked Mike Douglas. He was a very kind-hearted man with a lot of class.

Yes, very nice memories - afternoons in the 70s, especially watching with my brother! Show and 'Mike' was a lot of fun and always a gentleman, with a calm approach...great variety and so many guests! A combo of variety and talk. Good memories...thanks, Mr. Douglas, - we'll miss you!

I just saw it posted on myYahoo. He died on his 81st birthday in Palm Springs.
I loved watching his show after school when I was a kid in the 60's. He had a really easy going style He used to have Charo on his show quite a bit - and great comedians, and singers. It was always light and easy. I also watched Merv Griffin...but Mike Douglas was a far better singer.

I thought he was on 60 minutes, but I am not sure, the name sounds familiar though.
