by putting my leaf springs under the differential,it will lower my truck..right?do i really need a flip kit..?

or can i just move the differential on top of the leafs? i wanted to avoid this but in order to get the drop i want it looks like i will have to........

Yes it will lower the vehicle, but you must also modify the spring perches on the axle to make the modification secure so that the springs don't travel on the axle tube.

If you want more height in your truck, yes you can make the SOA (springs over axle). I have done it couple of times and hadn't have a problem in my jeeps yet.
Many people doesn't like this procedure, instead they prefer to change the spring leaf set for another with the desired lift, I did it the first time (I didn't like the SOA, at first), but even if I got the required rise in my jeep I lost a lot of comfort, the ride was pain full because of the stiffness of the new lift kit. I dropped it and made the SOA.

i depends on the truck...if the leafs are on the top of the axle then flipping it to the bottom will drop it about 5 inches. If its already on the bottom this drop can be achieved with blocks or drop leaf kits...
