Douse the ring in dishsoap, stick your hand in a bag of ice and hold above your head for 10 minutes or so to draw out as much blood as possible. This plus the ice will help shrink your finger a bit.

Wrap thread around your finger starting by the ring and moving towards the fingertip. Apply Windex to the thread and remove the ring. Also works for toe rings!

Method 1) Some kind of lubricant.
Method 2) Temperature change by blowtorch, heat makes metal expand.
Method 3) Catastropic weight loss.
Method 4) Amputation. Alternately, biting off by Gollum.
Method 5) Rotary saw, carefully applied. (Will destroy ring and possibly lacerate.)

The way we do it in the hospital is to soak your hand in ice water to decrease the blood flow.

Then we use a certain substance that you can't get. What you should use that is just like it though is mayonnaise.

Spread a lot of it on your hand after you soak it in ice and it will come off. Then go to the jeweller and make sure you get him/her to change it to a larger size.
Good luck.

If all of the above don't work, go to the E.R. and have them cut it off. They have a special device just for that.

Sad, but true. Better than having the circulation in your finger cut off!

Try soaking your hand in warm water and then pulling the ring off under water. ,If that fails, try putting Vaseline all around the ring and on your finger- you may have to work with it, but it'll come off eventually!

Try soaking it in cold soapy water. The cold will sort of shrink your fingure and the soap will lubricate the ring to slide off.
