I pierced my ears in April and I've worn a gold, sensitive skin stud ever since, and it hasn't been infected. right now, on the front of my earlobe, where the side of the earring touches the skin, there's a cut that really hurts when i push or pull my earring. i don't thik this is an infection or an allergic reaction. I just want to know how to take care of it?

For the most part, I agree with what "goddess" said. But I don't think you need to remove the earring. Clean the cut initially with hydrogen peroxide and a cotton swab twice a day but don't repeat this after the first 2 days. Peroxide is good for cleaning but it destroys developing cells and will delay healing if used continuously. After day 2, soap and water will work just fine, again twice a day with a cotton swab. Don't use facial cleanser, this can irritate an open cut. It makes sense to apply an antibiotic ointment with a cotton swab to prevent infection and reduce the chances of possible scarring. Try this for 1 week and see how it works for you. If infection manages to set in, a visit to your health care provider would be the next step.

Well first of all you need to take the earing out. Then you need to clean it with a mild soap, like maybe your facial cleanser, as long as there's no alcohol in it. Next, take some peroxide on a cotton ball and clean the hole and the cut. It may sting a bit, but that's ok. After it's dry, put some ointment on it. (like neosporin) Keep doing that for the next few days until it heals. Good luck.

Take the stud out for a few days and apply some antibacterial cream.

you cannot take care of it yourself ,if it does become infected you run the risk of dying through blood poisoning, it sounds to be like you have had a infection, its cleared up and then become re infected , go see a doctor of medicine.
