First of all if your gonna get sims get the ones for your pc. They are a lot better on pc cause you can add the attachment games to it ( don't worry im getting to that). Sims is a simulated everyday life game with a lot other intersting thing going on. You choose your house, family, job, neighborhood ect. You get to design EVERYTHING in your house from a HUGE selection (from the silly to the classic). You can get a job or be a lazy body who lets everyone else work. You have to keep up with allll of your characters as far as are they eating, sleeping, bathing ect. So that is the BASICS of sims...but there is a LOT more. But I hope that helps ya out!!

The Sims comes as BOTH a computer game & a PS2 game. They are different from each other though. I have the sims complete collection (original + all the expansion packs combined) for my computer but I hear the sims 2 is really good. i have never owned a gaming system however, so i do not know what the ps2 version is like. as for prices, i would shop around. many places such as target, walmart, bestbuy...etc have websites where you can look them up w/out going all over the place.
P.S. I know a cheat code for the computer game that can give you the max amount of money. Then, your sim doesn't have to get a job and you can spend spend spend w/out your amount of money changing. HAHAHA

Sims is a animated life simulator game for the computer. It is a blast. You can get either Sims 1, or Sims 2. If you get one i suggest getting the 8 in 1 game. Has all of the expansion packs for 1 included. my favorite Sims 1 in the makin' magic. It is included with the 8 in 1. You can cast spells on People, I love turning them into a toad. lol Hope you enjoy it .

The Sims is a simulation game (hence, where the name came from). You create and customize characters to your liking, and then you run their lives. You can make them succesful, you can make them rich, you can get them crappy jobs, they can have kids, get married, etc. I wouldn't buy the PS2 version, if I were you. It's not the same as the PC version, and you can't do as much (such as build two story houses, if I remember correctly). You get more bang for your buck with the PC version. As for which game, I'd suggest Sims 2. Or, you can start out with the original, if you like.
Enjoy!
