Mathematically, 2*4 could have lots of answers, depending on what base or mod you were doin your calculations in [i.e. 0 mod 2, 1 mod 3, 1 mod 5, blah blah blah . Also, I think a lumber 2X4 is not actuall 2 by 4 inches, but rather 1 3/4 by 3 3/4, to leave room for some other **** or something.
