It is the same question as asking why do we have insects like mice or any other animal after human evolution is several steps ahead of others. It all comes down to survival of fittest and the change from apes has been so gradual to mankind that there is no residual trace of apes left. How do we know that amongst humans there are not a select hundreds or millions who are better than the rest and over a period of time, current race as it stands now will not be extinct...

We didn't do so good in the trees as the other apes so we got pushed out onto the grasslands, still on all fours and where there wasn't much food and so like the meercats we learned to stand on two feet so we could see danger further away. We then copied the big cats by killing and eating meat. With all that protein our brains grew and our craniums with it and because the evolution of the female form couldn't keep pace with it (Thank God!) you now suffer from some serious pain in child birth. But if you want a serious answer....

We still have fish, birds, reptiles, and all of our other cousins too. Read up on evolution; just because a species evolves doesn't mean that all of its members evolve the same way. Why do you think we have different races of people, as well as so many different species of animals?
Or put it another way - some fish said, wouldn't it be groovy to get up on land and grow some legs? Then other fish said, "you're crazy man, I dig it here in the sea." The first amphibian was probably ostracized and looked at as a total freak. Just like the first human probably was.

Lol, I hope this is a serious question. We still have them because species tend to branch off when they evolve. In other words, if a couple of finches fly to a new island (where the main population isn't) they may evolve to fit the new island (say bigger beaks or something). The old ones stay the same and kick it on the old island while the new ones are evolving due to the environmental conditions of their new island.
Cheers!

We didn't evolve from monkeys and apes we share a common ancestor with monkeys and apes.
Read on evolution yourself instead of posting the "smart" questions you've been told in church

What the hells does this have to do with economics?
Humans and apes evolved from a common ancestor. We didn't evolve from something that is in its current evolutionary state, but rather we branched off a similar ancestor we both share. In other words, it's like how cheetas and panthers both evolved from a common cat-like ancestor.

All dogs in the world evolved from wolves, yes, even chihuahuas. We still have wolves. Same thing happens with apes some sub species developed further due to conditions where they lived.

You really should study ancient history before you ask this question. Man did not evolve from apes; man and ape decended from a common primate ancestor.

Because we never evolved from monkeys and apes! Stop insulting yourself like that!
According to the words in the bible it says "Let us make man in our own image and after our own likeness...and that man will rule over all the creatures of the earth.
I believe that rather than what evolutionists say!

Economics, funny, I understand, ooh ahh ahh ahhh.
We have, the lions, the tigers, the bears, Cats and Fish - not all creatures in the chain evolve or survive...
Christians are creatures that did not, and will not ever evolve - there is hope for most others. with respect to the answer above mine; who was right Galileo or the Pope.
Answer: It wasn't Padre Simplicio...
