When they are taken out of the mountain to be bottled some chemicals are added maybe to make the water cleaner and more tasteful.It's because of those chemicals that mountain water already bottled always has a "use by" date.The plastic container can also be a cause that's chemical too and it's tightly closed.

I actually know this; I read it in the newspaper once!
Water has a "use by" or "best by" date b/c after awhile, it'll start to taste funny from being in a plastic bottle or jug.

Because when it is in the bottle for too long, it starts tasting like plastic. It is no longer as fresh as it was in the stream.
