what do YOU call it? Is there a difference?

I call it Vacation. Holidays is a derivative of Holy Day which there is a great difference. A Holy Day would be to reverance God or in observance of His great plan. A vacation would be to vacate the normal activities and get away.

Of course there's a difference.A holiday is when you go away with your family and build sand castles. A vacation is when the doctor sticks a needle in your bum and tells you that you won't catch typhoid for the next six months.Why would you ask such a silly question?

I live in the US so I say vacation, I think most europeans say holiday!

leave on few days means holiday and leave for more days that means vacation
