You may not have enough ram memory.

It may have to do with Java. My spades screens used to lock up all the time, particularly when trying to close a window. The only way to get around this is ctrl-alt-delete then "End Process" for iexplore.exe.

Research online showed one way to fix the problem for good is to uninstall Java and use Microsoft Virtual Machine instead. MS used to use this program, which in a way I guess had a license to use Java or something which had that effect. Sun revoked their license, so MS no longer distributes VM, however, you can still download it thru searches online. One site is here: http://java-virtual-machine.net/download.html

This cleared up my problem for good - closing games windows no longer hangs up, and although the screen is a little bit smaller, you get used to it quickly and functions waaaay better.

to fix your problem by doing the following
yahoo now uses popups to enter rooms,DO NOT turn off popup blocker,no need.if you do you get flooded with popups. click on popup blocker click on always allow.add yahoo.com to list. then the 1st thing you do when you enter lounge is check play small window in option box. if you don't and enter room you get grey screen(,if you leave it ) you get errors in logging in..once in small room you can expand it,,you only see top half of cards but you can play.and see chat area so you can talk to other players.yahoo is now running sales ads in rooms. email them and let them know what you don't like about new format i did, if everyone does this maybe they will stop it. the site to complain is on lounge select page the HELP button at top,feedback! if you are having tiny fonts its because of java's new update,to fix go to control panel open internet options advance tab,unclick the 2 java listed click apply close.back to normal. if it says error 999 answers and some help found here

dowload virtual machine and keep it updated! That will stop the freezing!
