Not too sure- just toying with the idea: My buddy is going to give me his 1st 3 picks for LJ, which would be Ronnie Brown, Steven Jackson and Antonio Gates. With Westbrook on the bench and Witten in tow, maybe another possible trade? What do ya think?

Between Brown and Jackson they had 1900yds and 12 Tds. I am also worried about who will backup Brown and Jackson incase of injury.

Also, we drafted before pre-season because it does not even effect the outcome of picks. All starters play a series or two, then the backups come in.

Forgot to say that the guy has Kevin Jones and Corey Dillon on his bench to back LJ. Plus, no big deal picking up a TE, especially if I have to drop mine.

The cardinal rule in fantasy sports is to never trade a franchise player ever, unless it's worth it in value. You are going to get value and much more for this trade. I wish I had a buddy like your because he's being too generous for one player. Although LJ is going to have some sort of MVP year, your getting 2 first round RB and the top TE in the NFL. I would take that over anything else and here's my reason:

1) Who to replace Willie Roaf is a question because the passing game might faulter and that means defense can concentrate on LJ more. However, I'm not implicating that he turn into Willis McGahee of last season because he's better than that and he's at an age in sports where he can breakout (27) in this league.

2) W/o Ricky Williams hovering him, Brown now has an opportunity to claim the job all by himself. If Daunte is healthy and Chambers and McMichael step up, expect Brown to get at least 1,100-1,200 yards and 10+ touchdown in an rejuvinated Miami offense, barring any injuries and his small stature.

3) Marshall Faulk is no longer around (not that he's was any factor anyway) and Jackson will continue to produce under "the greatest show on turf" san former head coach Mike Martz (who's now in Detroit as the offensive coordinator).

4) Word around camp is that Phillip Rivers is passing the ball with accuracy and feels no pressure to step in the footstep of Drew Brees, since he knows the offense already. If that is true and Tomlinson can produce MVP numbers, look for Gates to have another solid year as the top TE in the league (sorry, Tony Gonzalez).

That sounds like a dream trade. LJ will have a big year and should finish in the top five or better of most rushing catagories. Brown and Jackson will both be solid point getters with the departure of Ricky Williams and Marshal Faulk (not to mention pass happy Mike Martz). Both have the potential to be top 10 backs this season. Also there is no other player that will come close to taking the starting job away from any of these players. Gates is the top TE and a top 10-15 WR in most leagues. This trade has a huge upside given you would only lose one feature player by gaining three. Do it, do it.

If you can get those backs for just LJ, take it. Steven Jackson is going to be a beast this year. WIth Martz out of St. Louis they will be running the hell out of the ball. Gates is the number 1 TE and ronnie brown is solid too. Take that deal before he thinks about it.

I would jump on that deal like a duck on a june bug. Yes you give up one of the top 3 running backs but you get in return the number one TE and a solid top 6 back in Jackson with a good second chloice in Brown. SO hurry take the deal and watch your points add up.

With STLs pass happy coach now with us in Detroit Steven Jackson will be cut loose with the running game he's easily a 1000 yrd rusher this year. Gates, I had last year and as a TE he will get you just as many points as a quality WR.
Why did you draft before the end of Pre-season????

all the guys here are right...except the one that said no.....brown and jackson are good enough and philip rivers only receiver is antonio gates AND who is going to be LJ's backup...most likely priest holmes and you just dont bench priest holmes like that LJ is the number one RB but priest is too good to not get a lot of touches..if healthy so yeah i'll go for it

do it gates is by far above all TE s i think lj is overrated brown is supposed to be pretty good and jackson should get more touches due to the fact that new coach scott linehan will rely more on the running game

HELL YES. I would take that trade in a heartbeat. Even though I think LJ is gonna be the best player in fantasy football this year his stats wont compare to the numbers of all those guys combined. JUMP ON IT RIGHT NOW BEFORE HE CHANGES HIS MIND!!!
