Look at the list and find your representitive and how much money they have accepted from the AIPAC.

I support the US/Isreali relationship provided the support comes from an UNBAISED congress. Those on the AIPAC payroll are NOT unbiased.

My point is we sit back here fight against each other about how great "our" parties are. In fact they are not "our" parties but parties that are bought and paid for by special interest groups.

Oh I get it it is OK because they take money from OTHER groups TOO...like oil companies (have you seen the price of gas)...so it all balances out in the end....our ends without lube.
So let's NOT demand campaign finance reform because you all seem to love getting screwed so much.

And where are we going to find an unbiased Congress?

Look at those numbers in detail. For the vast majority of candidates, that's under $2000 per candidate. Which is the same as the federal limit that one person can contribute. And if you checked, I'll bet you find similar contributions for their opponents who lost. Not to mention that most of those candidates that received a few hundred dollars each also probably received a lot more from anti-Israeli groups.

So, 10% of Congress may be unduly biased. Granted, no more so than those accepting tens of thousands of dollars from oil companies, car manufacturers, phone companies, or any other corporate PAC. But let's assume the bias.

That still means the votes to make loans to Israel were approved by a Congress that was 90% no more biased than anyone else.

But let's ignore that. What are the alternatives? Supporting Syria and Iran against Israel? We tried that in the past (1970s and 1980s) and it didn't work then either. Supporting Hezbollah and Hamas? That would go over well.

I sort of agree except for the simple fact every one in congress is getting money from someone period, whether it be corporate entities, religious groups, or even wealthy elitist. It cost money to campaign and they have to get it somewhere other wise the only ones elected would be Forbes and Gates.

The United States needs a strong-hold position in the Middle East in order to protect our World power and keep our commodities (oil) intact. We supply Israel with the worlds most advanced weapons, supplies and intelligence in order that they'll be our allies and a prime spot in the Middle East if we need it.

All Representatives recieve money from LOTS of different people and groups that doesn't mean that they are influenced by them the amounts of money mentioned in that article are insignificant compared to the sums they have recieved from other groups including ISLAMIC groups. So I would be leary of such biased reporting.

The REAL reason we support Isreal is it is the RIGHT thing to do.

Where are all the other lists? Don't they also all accept money from big oil, religious donors, etc. Present the WHOLE story not just a little piece!

I can't speak for all Americans, but the main reason the majority of us do is because we believe they are in the right. This belief is backed up by the Bible, which the majority of Americans believe to be true.

Corrupt officials? HERE?
Grow up.

Your point is irrelevant. Hezbollah began heaving missiles and killing people. Israel had no choice after that.
Too bad too....... Lebannon had a choice - and shirked it.
