how long has she been leaking? Infection is a huge risk if you are leaking and could be fatal for baby. if it's been a few hours it's time to go to the hospital and get some help to get things going.

If she is leaking fluid, she needs to be tested to see if it is amniotic fluid. I am concerned. If she has been leaking amniotic fluid for three days, chances are very high for an infection dangerous to her and to baby. It could be fatal for baby. She should be seen by an obstetrician right away. They can test for amniotic fluid at the office or the hospital, but plan on going to the hospital. There could be some reason why the baby is not able to progress normally through the cervix. The cord could be around the baby very tight, cutting off oxygen and nutrients, or there could be dystocia preventing the baby from coming down through the pelvis. At this point, baby needs to be monitored closely, and they both need evaluation.

If a pregnant woman's water breaks, or if she does not know but there is fluid leaking from the vagina, she needs to call her doctor or nurse practioner and go to the hospital to get checked. Once the bag of waters breaks the progression or dilation can go from 1 cm to 10cm in no time if they are accompanied with contractions. I have seen many women have their baby in a parking lot outside of the hospital.

If the contractions are coming in a regular pattern (timed from the time one starts to the time the next on starts) . Example:one every 5 minutes and not one 5 minutes and then 20 minutes later another one. It is time to call you doctor.

If she is leaking i have never heard of the doctor letting you go home because of infections. I leaked with my son and everyone else have heard that has leaked if you have leaked for more then 24 hours they break your water the rest of the way to induce labor but also give you pitocen to help induce it before they break your water.

Gl to you sister...

She really needs to get checked out if she is leaking. She is putting herself at risk for a uterine infection that could lead to making the baby sick, death, or increasing her risk for a c-section.

To speed up her labor, she can walk, do nipple stimulation, or have sex but I would not recommend having sex until she knows for sure whether her leakage is amniotic fluid or urine. Good Luck

Tell her to walk it sweetheart!! Walk until your feet fall off. You may also want to call the doctor. Three days is a long time to be in labor, but if the doctor is not alarmed, then she shouldn't be either. Make sure the doctor remains in the know if you are not already at the hospital.

If she is leaking water, you might want to call a dr.

But walking and relaxing even tho it maybe hard to do. Turn the lights out, listen to soft music, don't have alot of people bothering her.

That is what I did and it helped. Might help for her.

Caesar salad....there's a chemical in romaine lettuce that will help to induce labor (true story!)
