because there is a difference between sexual attraction and actual attraction....i think that if there is a little love thing going on in the movies then the actors connect because of that..or they connect to the actual character and not the real person..so after the film is done and released they see who they really are and breakup...thats what i think...

Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward are still together. I think it has to do with their level of maturity at the time. Acting often brings people together on very intimate level and often things can transpire over in to the physical very quicky. I studied theatre in college and got laid a number of times just doing scene studies for this very reason.

Publicity - frequently the "dates" are set up by the studio or agents, the actors show up for pictures and take off.

I guess it's to garner extra publicity for the movie.People expect the movie to have more chemistry since the lead actors are in love.

Because they are side by side for 6 months or so and have no time to date anyone else. then when the movie comes out its no longer exciting and they have time to find someone else.
