I agree.
It sucks because men tend to feel kind of trapped. On the one hand they want to be a gentleman, but then on the other hand they worry about offending people, so they hesitate and don't know what to do.
It affects ladies too because we want to be treated with respect, but then at the same time we kind of don't know what we want and then wonder why the men are clueless.
I'm all about chilvalry. Let men be men and ladies be ladies. I dont' care what my generation says. I think it's dumb that people get so uptight and offended so easily. They need to just take a laxative and be over it. Why spoil things for the rest of us?

I don't think the feminist groups did it - I think some men (seems like the majority sometimes) decided that on their own. But, I think it's gone waaaaay too far. The other day I was at a lab for a blood test. The waiting room was full and a pregnant woman who looked very close to her due date came in. There were about five men sitting in the room and not ONE of them stood up to offer her a seat. And these were YOUNG guys! I was floored! Luckily, my name got called about 10 seconds later.

well on some levels both views are right, I mean dont get me wrong there is a huge gap between equal rights but i think sometimes women can take it overboard, but then again where would women be if they didnt? i think that you can have equal rights and still have a man with manners , chivalry isn't in equal rights its in manners, find a man with manners and he will open the door for you or pull out your chair, views have changed and so has parenting but the civalry lies in the teacher if you have a parent to busy to teach manners then chivalry dies

Possibly. Me personally could care less and nowadays it surprises me when they actually open the door. I am pretty much independent and I can do for myself, its nice if a man is chivalrous, but hey it doesn't matter and to the women who has there panties all in a bunch over the simple stuff they need to take a hike! Because a man opening my door is the least of my worries.

I'll hold the door for myself and 5 guys behind me if they would truly give women equal rights and treatment. Chivalry is just being nice, and we all can do it, straight, or not, male, or not.

First I think that you are a little mixed up. Being a feminist has nothing to do with being straight or gay. Infact all of the feminsits I know are straight. They just want equality. And none of them mind good manners.
