I don't know which one is best. I'm the oldest and I always felt like I had it tougher than my younger brother and sister. My parents learned everything with me and then knew what they were doing with them. They were also more lenient towards them than me. My sister (who is the youngest) always seemed spoiled and got a lot of the things that I never did when I was her age (like a car). But the circumstances were different. I wouldn't have wanted to be an only child though. Having a sibling is nature's way of giving you a best friend.

I am an the oldest in my family. I am also the only girl. Being the oldest is good and bad, It is good because I have more privileges than my younger brothers, I also get to experience things before them, but it has its downsides, I have More responsibilities like taking care of them which leaves me with no time to my self, more chores, and having to sacrifice computer time to play with them or let them play. But it is great to know you are the one on top. I would have to say the being the oldest is the best it has it's down sides but I would not want to be an only child and being the youngest I would be left out and being in the middle would make me mad. So being the oldest is the best.

Definitely the youngest. And the more kids ahead of you the better. Besides Ma and Pa being all tired out from all the previous ones, they are broken into so you get and can do anything you want. The oldest will always look after you and your needs, the middle ones are good for your problems, and the ones right before you are a pain but who cares. You already have the rest of your family on your side. Yes, difinitely the youngest

Only all 3 (collectively) would know the answer to that question. Which of course, is the only child, which is the Oldest and Youngest!

The middle child, there is less pressure put on you to do things. With the oldest, they are often expected to do everything perfectly. The youngest is often treated like a baby, so I would prefer to be the middle child, which I am.

Neither. Oldest has the responsibility, middle gets left out, youngest is always treated like a baby, and an only child.. turns out spoilt.

The characteristics difference is for the 3 catetgories is how you deal with things etc... There is no model answer to "which is better".

Perhaps if you need to force any answer, than it would have to be imagined in a scenario if you were to marry / date a partner of first-born, middle born, last born, only child?

It reflects how you as a partner would deal with them as a partner / friend etc ?

First-borns are usually responsible, leadership qualities etc
(usually more dictative and authoritative)

Middle-childs are usually people-pleasers and they always try to make everybody happy, just to maintain peace and harmony etc ..(usually, Givers)

Last child are usually more spoilt, pampered and like to have things their way...

Eg. if you're a last child and partner is also a last child, there may be a lot of frictions when both of you expect the other party to give in and both will not relent ? In that sense, it would NOT be beneficial?

I hope you get the picture and hope it answers your question.

There is not issue of 'which is better' when your content is very much a "standalone non-issue"
