Alot of people who have IVF end up having multiples. Does anyone else think that all these IVF people are taking away from the "coolness" of multiple births? I mean they use to be so rare and it was always a really neat event when someone had twins or triplets but now it seems like they're everywhere. What do you think?

If you had trouble conceiving naturally you would worry about the 'coolness' of having multiples. And as far as the issue of doctors playing God - who do you think gave them the brains to figure out how to help these little miracles for families?
With more teens keeping their babies or having abortions it is becoming more difficult and expensive to adopt a child. Please have some compassion for the many childless mothers out there.
Back to the question of multiples. Yes, it does reduce the rarity of it and the 'coolness' that you call it but I don't think it really matters.
Now, those who see multiples and are compelled to ask the mother if they used fertility med - please don't. It's so annoying.

large long rant... you have have been given some valid factors. i could propose the medical institution ought to be held to blame with the aid of the state for "help". observe how there is a few backpedalling with the aid of the docs attempting to argue that they only implanted 4 not 8, that they warned her to abort some to make room yet she refused. i think they smell a lawsuit or medical board inquiry coming. Implanting 8 fertilized eggs replaced into properly exterior the selection of ethical or in charge behaviour. possibly a ability try ought to be required for in vitro if the medical expert would not desire to be held to blame. If the octuplet woman got here up with the loads to have the preliminary egg harvesting completed, how did she? replaced into she on welfare on the time? i'm not sure i could want the state coming in and announcing "not extra toddler" and tying your tubes or stealing your little ones. that occurs in severe situations - in Toronto, IIRC, some woman after abusing countless teenagers and 2 died over countless years, the courtroom and toddler's help did somewhat sieze the subsequent toddler at beginning. that's what I say to the superb suited-wing nuts who whinge approximately welfare - "what does this propose? could you get rid of the little ones and place them interior the on occasion crappy foster residing house gadget? it may probable fee the state much extra." maximum mum and dad, even the unintended ones, even those without funds, love their teenagers. each and every time there is a few heart-wrenching tale approximately some "observed" toddler who after 5 years has to return to her organic mum and dad by using fact the varieties weren't signed superb suited - save this in ideas. mum and dad very own their teenagers. teenagers are not accessible to be taken with the aid of th richest guy or woman or the utmost bidder. you shouldn't in any respect be in probability of dropping your little ones by using fact the ex has an more suitable income of the in-regulation mum and dad or the cchildless couple around the stree or a wealthy couple in Hong Kong desire to take them as a replace. a lot of mum and dad might mistreat or abuse their teenagers, yet finally they love them and it rather is their interest to look after them. As you pronounced, while you're able to maturing then not something makes you advance up and face existence swifter than having somebody based on you for each little thing.

I think in the past the 'coolness' led to freak shows at times - almost circus atmosphere in the media. Now, the parents have to worry if the kids will be even normal. You know - maybe it is better to let nature take the right course instead of the doctors playing God.

I agree with GP. I think if you can't have kids naturally, then it's not meant to be.
