I don't think so. They may test you on some similar things, but I don't believe they are the same. I'm not sure if the GED is quite as extensive as the proficiency test. I remember my high school had 4 or 5 days for seniors to take the proficiency (and we had to take them in 4th, 6th and 8th grade too), but I think my dad took his GED test in one evening or maybe only in 2? So that would tell me that the GED isn't as long at the very least.

If your talking about the senior exit exam... that's basically to make sure that the teachers are doing their job. The GED is making sure that you're doing your job.

NO I DON'T THINK SO, STUDENTS WHO SPEND A GOOD 4
YEARS IN SCHOOL ARE INVOLVED IN OTHER CURRICULAR,
AS OPPOSED TO TAKING A SHORT CUT WHICH THE G.E.D.
HAS TO OFFER. IT'S O.K. BUT IN MY OPINION THE 4 YEARS
THE STUDENT SPENDS IN SCHOOL IS A LOT WORTH MORE
AND REWARDING WITH MANY FOND MEMORIES!!!!
SO STUDENTS STAY IN SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND BESIDES THE ACCRONUM FOR G.E.D. IS..................
"GET- EDUCATED- DUMMY"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
