Oh, don't get married at 16! That's ludicrous! You have your whole life ahead of you!

Ohio: If you are 18 to 21 years of age, you will need to show your birth certificate. Persons aged 16-17 must have consent to marry from parents or legal guardians and may have to contact the Probate Court. Additionally, the Judge may require the minors to state that they have received marriage counseling that is satisfactory to the court. Section 3101.05 also mentions how the court will deal with a pregnant minor.
The following website shows the laws of marriage for all 50 states.

Ohio law provides that males eighteen (18) years old and females sixteen (16) years old may enter into marriage. Those under the age of eighteen must first obtain consent to marry.

Only persons of opposite gender are permitted to obtain a marriage license in Ohio. Ohio does not recognize homosexual marriage and thus, a homosexual couple can not be granted a divorce. Ohio law also does not allow for the marriage of a surgically changed transsexual to a person who is the same gender as that of the transsexual prior to the surgical change.

Yes, without mom and dad's approval. Don't get married at 16. You are still young and have a lot of living to do. I can tell you right now, you aren't ready to settle down/ You may be in love, but it ain't a matured love. Wait till you are 18 or 21 when you start going to the clubs, there will be a lot of cute guys out there that you can't flirt with because you are tied down. You will miss your youth. You are still young. Let your relationship grow as you do.

Usually, the only way to get married under 17 EVEN WITH parents permission is if your pregnet. At 16, though, even if you are, your parents have the option of putting the father in jail for sat rape. Even if you dont want them to.

Wow. 16? Are they sure that's what they want to do? That's pretty pathetic. How old is the partner? Over 20? That would be even more pathetic. What about prom, college? That's sad
