If the felony is for robbery, and it is ten years ago, this person should try to get a pardon. Also, it would depend on the type of job they are looking for. Does the job involve handling money or being responsible for money? Does the person need to be bond-able?? Lots of variables in this one.

To be perfectly honest with you, the answer to this question would vary from state to state. Most states allow employers to do a criminal history check on potential employees... but of course there are limitations. Some states can only check back as far as 7 years... some 10... of course, depending on the type of job, they may be able to review your entire criminal history.

It also depends on what field your masters is in, and if you have any experience in that field. You probably would not be able to get a job in the finance industry... but your previous conviction would not bar you from most service industries... except where perhaps a special license may be required.

Good Luck.

It would depend on a lot of things - is this person just out of jail, what has s/he been doing the past decade, what real skills do they have, what do they consider a well-paying job?

just wondering: was the masters degree in robbery??

because the time replaced into served out and obviously have served out the parole too by frame of mind to life freed from crime nicely a minimum of no longer being arrested back and getting the masters there is not any reason that you or who ever it truly is cant write for a letter of pardon out of your governor and get your record sealed. this way no man or woman will want to understand and also you dont ought to inform anybody both. from time to time human beings make blunders and they shouldnt ought to stay with it for ever thats why once proving you could stay in society without criminal pastime they are going to forgive and ignore and seal your record
