I don't hate santa, I just didn't and still don't believe in telling my children lies. Because my husband and I chose not to lie, ever, to our children, we have been ostracized, criticized and been generally regarded as Scrooge-like humbugs.
Christmas is not about Santa, but about the birth of the Savior of the world. You wonder why our society has deteriorated? The answer is as plain as can be. God has been relegated to the back, little-used burner. Our forefathers would be ashamed of what our society has become. We started out as a Christian nation, but somehow that is no longer of any import. Could that be why the rest of the world thinks so little of us?

Yeah, that part can suck if someone has the wrong outlook. But honestly, if parents to a decent job of focusing on the real meaning of Christmas in their home... then not having so much "stuff" under the tree won't seem like such a big deal.
I know (now) that what we got for Christmas wasn't much compared to some other kids. But at the time, I didn't really think about it. I was happy and grateful for what I got. Christmas was about Jesus, love, and sharing and giving with friends and family. Call me cheesy if you want, but that's how it was in my house.
Oh, and I don't hate Santa. I hate that some people substitute Santa as the real meaning of the holiday. But Santa is a commercial variation of of a real saint... St. Nicholas. My brother was born on December 23rd and is named after St. Nicholas.
To read about St. Nicholas and how modern society evolved him into a roly-poly man in a red suit, go here http://www.stnicholascenter.org/Brix?pageID=35

I don't actually hate him. It began as a nice story for kids: an old man who makes them happy by bringing toys to them X-mas day. I see it's really unpleasant for the kids you've mentioned, but I cannot hate somebody who doesn't even exist.

He only brings toys to rich kids? Um, you do know there is no santa right? Christmas isn't even about just presents. I'm sure a lot of children, even poor ones appreciate what they get. Some are probably happy to get anything.

Christmas has become very commercialized in the past 20 years to so.
Christmas is about love and compassion for one another. Not about the gifts you receive or how much they cost.

Maybe that's why the fans in Philadelphia boo him and throw things at him when he shows up at games there.
I 'play' Santa for dog photos and the proceeds go directly to homeless animal shelters. In my role as helping him out, I think you might be characterizing him wrong.

Santa is believed to be a fantasy idol which exists only in our thoughts nd fantacies..santa depicts a stature of love nd care.it only shows us to shower love on others.u can always learn from him,by taking on his getup nd helping those underpreviledged children nd bring them some joys by giving life to their fantacies.
so next time instead of hating santa,u can love him for giving hope nd a wonderful dream to those cute little innocent children..
