For the past few days, I've been getting quite a few strange messages. The messages invariably begin with a couple of bursts of harsh static. Then there will be a voice (often British-sounding) saying "Hello? Hellooo? HELLLOO?" and sometimes saying my name, sometimes not. It's the most bizarre thing, and I've yet to be lucky enough to be home when they call. Anyone have a possible explanation or have a simliar experience?

Depending on what state you are in you can

*69 : to find dial the last number that called you and find out who they are.

Or *59 : to have that call traced to the phone company's special team. This works even if *69 is blocked. You will not get the number but the phone company will. Then within about 10 minutes you have to call the 800 number for the harrasment line and tell them you just did the *59 and see if it captured a number. (it might not work if it is an out of state number)

Then the phone company goes to bat for you to get them to stop calling.

We had a bunch of fax numbers calling us, like all hours, after midnight too...who faxes after midnight and 2 am?

After trying *69 with no luck, I finally tried 0 for the operator to ask what I could do. She gave me an 800 number and told me about the *59

There may be something available in your state that is simmilar.

I've had this happen to me as well. Do you know anyone with a Brisitsh accent? If not, and this may sound weird, it could be a spirit. I've heard on many occasions of spirits trying to reach people through the phone or other electrical equipment. Maybe I just tend to believe this because I am a ghost hunter. But, you never know. I wouldn't worry about it too much though. If you can get a copy of the messages, try taking it to a local ghost hunting group and see what they think. It could be fun trying to figure it out. Best of luck!

Sounds like a set up. Given the general cavorting where everyone wants to be taken for some hot shot operative. I'd say put the Bobbies on it but if they're anything like American police they'll know about it in advance and have to effect sub par histrionics as though it's news to them, can't do anything, change your number, bla - bla - bla.

Someone may just think they have the right number and they don't. For a few days change your own message to a response to that call and see what happens.

actually (remember you asked) I have had weird experiences with everything electrical i have ever owned, from answering machines to cars to tvs and my computer, and although i do enjoy a good spooky interlude with the dead and spirits from interdimensional planes, I find that it did give me pause when the incidents started to happen~~~~~and then again it could be a wrong number

Just the standard wrong number.

"Marcus. This is your mother. I want you to know that I am most unhappy as to what you did to my cat. You are welcome in this house, if you refrain from abusing animals.

"Otherwise, I will cut you out of my will and give it all to Butterball."

I was half tempted to see if I could call her to find out what it was all about.

Wear your charms and amulets. You are being contacted from the twilight zone.
