if you have good cooling and you don't over do it its fine but it will void the warrty if it is new i woldn't do it for a wile. i would suggest water cooling if you want to push your CPU or whatever you are trying to OC. I am not resposable for any damage done to your system. if you go to xoxide.com they have water cooling systems for low prices and you can get every thing you need to bild one. have fun OCing. Remebmber don't over do it.

It depends on whether you have good quality hardware. I have been doing it for years with no probs, just don't go too far and make sure that you know how to fix it if it goes wrong - how to reset the BIOS is the first thing you need to know. I have had an AMD Athlon 64 3200 1MB for 3 years overclocked to 3800 equiv, it's been running for 3 years turned on and running at 100% on a climate prediction experiment with no probs. Good cooling and RAM is a must and if you have problems try upping the voltage to the CPU slightly. No grantees though!

In todays high powered processors, overclocking can cause some serious heat issues. If you try it you need to enable the system heat alarms in your bios so you don't overheat the system and cause damage. Make sure your fans are clean and operating well. I wouldn't try to go over about 80-90 C.

You really need to ensure your fans are good, as overclocking will mean it heats up much more. you should get away with a little overclocking.
take care

You void your warranty, but as long as you cool it properly it's fine.
