I wouldn't doubt it. Every few years, as technology evolves, Nintendo, Sony, and now Microsoft, release new game consoles.
Added: No, there isn't going to be one in 2008. No way in hell they would release a new console just 1-2 years after the upcoming ps3.

without a doubt the PlayStation company is to lazy to come up with a better name, but if some strange way Xbox and PlayStation joined together that would be the only way it wouldn't be called PS4 if PlayStation doesn't combine with another company look for PS4

i don't think so.becuz i am not sure that they are gonna sell ps3.xbox360 has smashed it down and they're encountering problems with designing it.and also some weird 2d games are gonna released for it.like the ones in ps2
