some cranes will lift 200 ft with extension boom, it is very expensive! and they are very heavy when they put down support legs sometimes they break road surface, and you would be responsible for damage, they have a waver for you to sign! if you kill the palm, it will be ugly and fire hazard and attract rats and nasty things, you really should hire a licensed tree remover tree surgeon ,they are best to decide if it can be saved by a lift or removed or cutting it down, make sure they have insurance make them sent proof of insurance , ask for references and talk to people in your area. good luck!

Two things come to mind--1) take down the gate and fence and get it out. 2) Talk to nursery people-- those aren't cheap those coconut trees-- they may remove it for you so they can sell it. Worth a few phone calls I think.
Really don't want you to destroy the tree-- that's a lot of years of growth-- For sure, don't use salt-- as the person said- you will kill the ground-- organisms, earthworms-- everything-- and you'll have to dig out all the dirt and take it somewhere else in the future.
Wish you and the tree luck...

light a small coal fire at its base. The wood is not real wood so will catch well. Tie a rope at the top of the tree using a sling bag and line. As the tree weakens get a team of friends to full, the local scouts would be quite keen but remember not to attract local press as you may get reported. Good luck wish I was there.

I have been told that if you get some copper nails and nail them all around the tree near the base this will cause the tree to die.Dont know how,or if its true but hey,you have nothing to lose

You can kill it by taking a sharp knife and completely girdling it just above the roots...make a deep and wide incision all the way around. But you still have the dead tree to get rid of. Nothing will kill it and then make it disappear.

An axe or chainsaw work good. I think salt in the roots is a bad idea, you want something else to grow in that ground right?

if you want to kill it drill a hole downwards into the middle of the tree near its base at least 10mm in diameter then pour diesel or petrol into the hole then plug the hole, this will kill your tree.
otherwise you are looking at hiring a lumberjack to take the tree down a section at a time.

you need to get a qualified tree surgeon - anything less will leave you open for prosecution if something goes wrong
