Everyone keeps asking the question yankees or red sox. Well here is my question: dodgers or giants. One of the best baseball rivalries of all time. I love the Dodgers and I hope they sweep the Giants this season.

As a life long Dodger fan and as I live on the West Coast, I have to wonder about the "forced" rivalry between the Yankees and Red Sox. If it weren't for ESPN pushing this on us night after night, no one west of the Mississippi would give a damn. They also play in the "junior cicuit" AL..not real baseball. REAL baseball is 9 on 9, no freakin DH!!!
As for the LA/SF rivalry being VASTLY superior to the BOS/NYY rivalry., let me give you two things to think about. How many Yanks or Sox have taken a bat to an opposing players head? The name Juan Marichal ring any bells?? Have any NYY/Bos fans been SHOT visiting the others stadiums?
The Dodgers and Giants have been HEATED rivals since the NY days. The teams ALWAYS take it up a notch when they see these games upcoming. Tonight, I'll be in front of my TV with my Dodgers hat and shirt on, listening to the greatest announcer in the history of the game, Vin Scully. The Dodgers will hopefully sweep the JINTS from the bay and roll into the playoffs...

The Giants. Dodger fans arrive at the game in the 3rd Inning and leave by the 6th Innning (because of traffic).
That's pretty shallow.

I don't think the rivalry is as strong but the Dodgers are definitely outperforming the Giants this year. As for me, I will continue to suffer as a Rockies fan.

dodgers. the giants only have one good pitcher, jason schmidt. barry bonds isnt that good this year, and i think ray durham, with not even 20 hrs, is their best offensive player. the dodgers have brad penny, greg maddux, and derek lowe. they also have jeff kent, nomar, furcal, and bettemit (if thats how u spell it). they are much more well rounded, and could be the first west team to advance to the NLCS in a while. giants will most likely finish last in the division unless barry can pick it up
