No, that sounds bad to me.. You shouldn't use anything other than whater and maybe a mild soap near that area. My advice to you if you're having difficulies with the "insert" (jeez, my english is bad!) is to buy the smalles tampon sice, lock the bathroom door and get down on the floor on your back, and exhale while putting it in place. This way your muscles is relaxed. And If you lube your tampons you will ruin the absorbation anyway, so whats the point?

If you find that you absolutely MUST lubricate a tampon for insertion (though you usually shouldn't need to do so), I would strongly recommend a water-based female lubricant, like KY or Astro-glide. These are made specifically for vaginal insertion, and are less likely to introduce bacteria into the vaginal canal. Other substances might create, contribute to, or enhance vaginal infections (like yeast infections).

If you are having trouble with inserting tampons, it might be because of the brand you are using. Cardboard might hurt more and you might have to do more to get it in but I would suggest using a plastic applicator brand. But if you prefer cardboard or you want to use something to help with the insertion, I would use petroleum jelly.

why would you need ot lubricate the tampon? If you are using tampons with the cardboard wrap around the tampon (the thing that you use to inser the tampon) then switch to a tampon with a plastic wrapping. Tampax pearl are very good.

Pardon me if I'm wrong, But I don't believe you have to lube up tampons. If it hurts going in or anything of that matter, It's because you're not inserting it right or you're using one with too high of an absorbency.

First of all use a plastic applicator. Use KY gel, that is better and one of the uses of it is to use on the tip of the tampon. You will be better of with KY gel.
