ABSOLUTELY; because they sit there in unified silence and never speak out against the atrocities of their extremists. Perhaps it is because they all share the same views. Perhaps they are all extremists, just in different degrees. They ask the world to understand their grievances, while their people kill innocents. No, contacts and informants in the muslim world won't help. This is a muslim problem. The muslims are the only ones who can stop it. If they don't, it means they support it and we've seen all kinds of evidence that they do, whether they admit it openly or not. They glorify suicide murders! They have parades and memorials in honor of teens who blew themselves up to kill Israelis or Maronites or Americans or whoever the infidel do jour is. Not all muslims are bad, but enough are to really really matter. After 9/11 an extensive poll was taken throughout the muslim world (where allowed.) 15% openly supported OBL and said the US had it coming and they hope there's more. 69% said that, while regrettable, it's the US's own fault for supporting Israel, EVEN THOUGH at the time, Israel wasn't even mentioned by OBL, and most of these people have never met an Israeli in their lives. So 74% of the muslim world wants Israel gone and wouldn't be too sad if we were gone too. If the poll is representative, then out of 1.3 Billion muslims in the world, there are over 700 Million who want Israel gone and who wish us ill. Furthermore, A 2004 estimate by the intelligence unit of French police found that about 150 of the country's indexed 1,600 mosques and prayer halls were under the control of extremist elements.

A study of 1,160 recent French converts to Islam found that 23% identified themselves as Salafists — a sect sometimes associated with violent extremism.

In the Netherlands, the Dutch intelligence service says it believes as many as 20 different hard-line Islamic groups may be operating in the country.
In London, authorities say that as many as 3,000 veterans of al-Qaeda training camps over the years were born or based in Britain. Not all muslims are bad, but as far as I'm concerned, enough of them are, therefore I don't feel bad about generalizing or profiling in this case.
In recent years, some Western observers of Islam have claimed that it is moving toward an enlightened reformation. What happening now is the opposite: a dangerous slide toward a medieval holy war. To stop the regression, the moderate majority will have to STAND UP & argue against the mobilization of Islamic religion for war. Individuals may rely on their faith to inspire them in adversity. Religion may be invoked at times of loss. But it is impossible to deploy religion to justify killing and self immolation, without undermining the foundations of the religion itself.

In the pained expressions of decent Muslims, there should be a growing realization that the men who responsible for ISLAMO-FACISM have put Islam in peril. Only Muslims can redeem it.

Definitely!
As far as I'm concerned, The U.S. should close the borders and give citizens 30 days to come home.
Our troops should also come home within 6 months.
All military equipment in Iraq should be gathered up in the desert and carpet bombed, and the U.N. can move to Iceland.
All companies with outsourced jobs should be taxed into oblivion.
China can keep their cheap plastic junk and forced labor products in China.
Natural disaster on the other side of the planet? Thats terrible, sucks to be them.
Jews and Muslims fighting? Arm both sides.
Break out the patents on all these suppressed energy efficient power supplies and vehicles, and offer OPEC 5 bucks a barrel for their oil.
Any immigrants in this country have 1 year to become a citizen, and the national language is English.
You are free to protest against this country, from the wrong side of a 50 foot high electrified fence.

tough question. i can't lie. it's natural to be standing in a security line, and your eyes start to wonder towards a person that "looks like those terrorists on tv." then later, it breaks my heart when i sit next to that person on the plane, and they aren't middle eastern, they are Indian descent. or they are middle eastern descent, but born in the US. and they are also saddened the mistreatment and association with such bad acts.

i don't want anyone profiling me, in an airplane, while driving, in a store, or otherwise. it's an awful feeling to be pegged. have you ever been pegged? i had someone following me in a dept store last week, while i was shopping for a "white outfit." was in the store for hours, searching hard b/c white is hard to find this time of year. was i the only person who was in the store looking hard for a garment? was i the only person going from dept to dept? there was SOME reason why they were watching me. the point is ( i do have a point :) profiling is more than just flagging down middle eastern descent people at the airport. there are many circumstances where people are profiled for suspected wrong doing. to say i approve in one area, is to say i approve it in all areas, and i am not prepared to do that.

i say, let's just all get searched, questioned, poked, and prodded the same. if life is gonna suck, it needs to equally suck! :)

Yes, we should racially profile. These terrorist do have a profile...that profile is a man of arabic descent, most likely aged from late teens to late 40s.

Not profiling by race is sheer poilitically-correct insanity. The functional world is crippled with anti-racism religion.

Yes we should. It's to bad, but people need to get their heads out of their behinds. I can see the ACLU foaming at the mouth already.
