Yes there is...You have been seeing this person for months or even years....you fall in love...then you start planning a life together..but first..you have to plan the "WEDDING".

You have spent months and months meeting with wedding cordinators, florist, Ministers, going to showers. This has been a whirlwind of sort, planning and getting things done. The last weeks you are the center of attention so to speak. The dress, parties and such.

The day comes....the honeymoon comes..then it is all just over...that is it. All this time you have been anticipating this new start among all this activity. NOW it is just you and him. The phone is not ringing for you to meet this person or that person. No decisions to make of roses or lilies, chocolate or white...etc.

Take a breath and try to remember why you did this. This is the man you love. Take time to have dates.....one night a week, make a date night....do something out of the ordinary during the week. YOU need to spark that smoldering fire again.

What you feel is not out of the ordinary....and trust me hon..you will be fine.

Life is what you make it..and you are on this FANTASTIC journey with the man you love....now you get to start planning on a family, new house, making this the home you have dreamed of. Have fun and enjoy.

I hope you take this by the horns and run with it

Yes, it is like a project of something special you had planned for an amount of time. What you should have done in addition to the special day was to plan for the rest of your life, then you would not be experiencing such a let down. You can adjust your thoughts and find other things to look forward to like a vacation, holidays or birthdays.

Yes, its plenty possible. you have this huge big event that takes nearly a year of planning, everything comes off without a hitch, you go on this wonderful romantic honeymoon . . . and come home . . . and there's Bob, scratching himself on the couch.

And yes, there is a transition for both of you, new roles for both of you. You suddenly stop being his girlfriend or fiancee, and now you are a WIFE. Poof, now he's a Husband. A whole new level of relationship and expectations.

Bound to be a little bit of, umm, what happened here?

I bypassed all that be adamantly declaring that we were still on our honeymoon till further notice, and we just had a great time with lil evening excursions and playful picnics etc. Lasted about a year or two as I recall.

Oh of course!!! You spend so much time and effort into preparing for your wedding, and then it happens and you're thrown back into real life. Totally normal! Just establish some goals together as a new husband/wife team and work towards those together! Also, it's fun to plan little outings or activities together... they don't have to be expensive.

Its very common. Check out the message boards on modernbride.com.....I mean think about it...your entire life you dream about that one day, and for how ever long you were engaged was building up to that point, and now its just over...and it probably went by so quick you don't remember half of it! Anyways check out some of the message boards on "married life", and just enjoy your time with your new husband...start a new hobby or redecorate your home together!

Oh that's totally normal, the same phenomenon happens after vacations end, after Christmas, and Birthdays. Don't worry too much about it. It's easier to get over the post-holiday blues than postpartum depression (there's not so many hormones involved:)

Yeah, I totally know what you are talking about. It's like you spent so much time getting ready for a wedding and then it's over so quickly and you're just jonsin' for something else to do now. You feel like it's time for something else in your life. I think most women go through this.

Good greif. Get over yourself. Quit crying about not being the center of attention and get on with your life.
