I agree, if the Cards had a few good pitchers and a decent closer, Cards would be best in Baseball or atleast NL.

The Cards have the Bats and the Defence, if they can only get a few freaking good pitchers and a decent closer they will be unstoppable.

Well for starters, Julian Tavarez isn't a closer, so nice try on that one.

Isringhausen isn't even close to the worst closer. The Indian's current closer, Fausto Carmona, is horrible. The Royals are closing with Ambiorix Burgos, and he's not much better. The Brewers can't seem to find anyone to close effectively, whether it's Derrick Turnbow or Chad Cordero. And whoever said "Papelbon" because of his recent struggles should remember that he's a rookie who at one point was tied for best in the majors for saves. Isringhausen will rally, he's too good not to.

regrettably for the Phillies, Lidge has in straightforward words been a shadow of his former self because his, "suited" season in 2008. His down fall really began in 2009. He made the pennant race so a lot more effective frustrating for the Phillies with the aid of his double digit blown saves. Now, in 2010 the sub par performance has endured. If the Phillies except to overhaul the Braves, they more effective acceptable positioned Lidge on the shelf. He has change into the susceptible link contained in the "Fightin's" chain to fulfillment!

Well, I would have said Eddie Guardado, but he seems to have picked up since being traded to Cincinnati. If Isringhausen does not recover, the Cards are in big trouble.

Papelbon has blown 3 out of his last 4 i think

but that should be expected it's a long season for a rookie

the Indians don't even have a closer i believe that their entire bullpen has 3 saves between everyone (feel free to correct me if i'm wrong on that fact or they picked someone up.)

Im an indians fan but i lobe the cards. ishrenhousen is not the worst closer now... carmona blew 4 saves for the indians in one week (last week) he is for sure the worst closer.

when he's good he's good, but when he's bad, he's awful! too bad St. Louis doesn't have the big bucks like New York and Boston to bring in better pitchers! the Cards need them bad!

I totally agree with you! They should have kept Calero and made him their closer. He is awesome with the A's this year! Lucky for me I'm an A's Fan too. Kevin

I am going to go with Eric Gagne on this one. Even though he is injured he was the best in his prime. Eighty four consecutive saves is quite amazing and I believe it will be some time before that record is ever broken again. go dodgers
