They're not just Graphic Animation...I guess they also study Computer Science or something like that,meaning they have to have knowledge of computer programs,programing,softwares AND animation cause they first design the engine or the program they're gonna use to create the game. Plus,creating a game needs a HUGE team of programmers,animators,sound engineers and so on so basically there isnt a precise thing you have to study to make a full game (I mean not just one). You can study CS and be a part of the team (same goes for Graphic animations,etc)
