Its absolutely crazy to think any Republican is for the concept of war and wants to fight a war becasue they don't. I recently went to a political fundraiser and where Dick Cheney was speaking. He spoke very well and on my way out we noticed the protestors chanting something like "War lovers" or something like that. The liberal party is potraying Conservatives as people who want to fight and kill and like war and that is just not true. Conservatives support the war and support our troops but they don't want to be fighting a war when it really comes down to it anymore than the liberals and they don't want to be putting our troops in harms way. But just becasue they don't want to do those things does not mean its not neccasary and fortunately for this countries security the Conservatices can see that this is a neccasary but unfortuanate meausre that must be taken.

I don't agree with the war but at least you are sensible about democrats. Both sides do things like that. It is a way to make your opponent seem less human than they really are. It is a lot easier to attack someone by saying they just want to kill people. Who can't come up with an argument against that? Then again, never forget that your side does it too. Any time a republican says that democrats support terrorist, democrats hate god, democrats want to put everyone on welfare etc. It is all ways of destroying your opposition's argument without trying too hard. Just use your mind and don't listen to hate.

The reason people protest the Republicans in regards to the war is because Republicans identify themselves with the war. They use it against Democrats to try to mark them as weak on defense, etc. This characterization is completely untrue. Democrats are just as concerned with protecting America as Republicans, they just believe in doing it differently (you know, with actual international support...)
The other reason Republicans are seen as war mongerers is because Iraq was an optional war. Intelligence was modified, or even fabricated completely, in order to support the war. They also have made millions for their friends and supporters using the war (see Haliburton).
And please, don't use the "Democrats voted for the war too" arguement. The vote was to give Bush the authority to use the military. This was an attempt to show to Saddam that we meant business. Most Democrats that voted for the war expected Bush to use this power judiciously, not just go in guns blazing. They expected Bush to get real international support and to have a plan for actual success. Even I, with no military training or anything, knew that we wouldn't be greeted as liberators and that if we didn't have a very good plan civil war would be inevitable.

YOU DO like wars, you LOVE to kill, you LOVE blood. Look at the history of the Cons, your solution to every problem is bloodshed, even if the issue is someone getting an abortion. You bomb clinics and kill doctors to protect the fetus, you attack physically people who are against your views and then cry fowl when someone does the same. You think killing ALL muslims is the solution to terrorism.
And to top it all off, you turn around and call yourself "compassionate Xtians". That's when I start laughing.

yeah, you said it all. You were at a political fundraiser. That's really a place for open and honest exchange of ideas, isn't it?
I reported you by the way. This wasn't a real question. This was a comment disguised as a question

You should not insult those here who disagree with you.
First: War is highly profitable. It always has been. And companies steal from our government and us taxpayers during times of war.
Haliburton has already been charged with over $50,000,000 in fraud charges and fraud over-rides and has been forced to pay most of that back. They didn't feel guilty about stealing from us during a time of war, they were only angry that they got caught.

So, is that why Bush went against Congress and went into Iraq anyway? Because he didn't want a war? And, why no exit strategy?
