They must get some kind of sick satisfaction from it. It seems to fuel a lot of Yahoo! Answers users. Here on Yahoo! Answers I've been verbally attacked for my very passive political viewpoints, simply for saying that everyone has a right to vote how they want or to agree or disagree on such things as war. I've seen peole ask "I need food, have no money, what should I do?", they get answers like "eat cardboard" or "watch the food network." One person here said they liked what happened on 9/11, several agreed. I even turned one user here into the FBI because he said he hates cops so much that he, for sure, was going to sit on a roof-top with a rifle and snipe one. He said he'd have no remorse when he does kill a cop, unless he accidentially killed an ant in the process. I felt he was a credible danger to society and the people who protect us.
I think it's a sad commentary on our society. Personally I get my satisfaction out of trying to help people here, I encourage, I help them to avoid internet scams, I help them to rid their computer of virus's. These things make me feel good. To my wife (who is also Rebecca), I compliment her even when she is feeling ugly (she's beautiful), to my staff & clients I operate on "Good job, that's great, you should be proud of yourself." If I am ever cranky and rude or accidentially mean to some one I whole heartedly apologize for it. I think rude/mean people and nice people both get satisfaction but one is sick and ruins our world, the other keeps it from falling apart.

If one feels complete, not perfect, then teasing other people and being rude to them is not a necessity for that person.. however, when one feels incomplete, it is then that that person would start being mean and rude to others to put them down and try to make them feel incomplete, thus gaining a feel of satisfaction and superiority. I think that it is human nature that when you see someone feeling worse than you do then your problems fade into comparison!!
P.S. I hate mean, rude people.. I had my share of those jackasses!!

I think a lot of rude people simply can't see themselves clearly. If they understood how they appear to others, they'd cool it.
I also agree with other posters who said that rude people are expressing some inner conflict or private injury. Someone once said (can't remember who) that if you looked into the hearts and histories of people you hated, you would never hate anyone anymore.

some of them demonstrate agression wen they cant handle the reality, they are closed minded and need to be rude to someone and belittle them to take guilt away from them selves, even though they might be the cause of the problem, they need a sense of control over something they screwd up, and have too much pride to admit fault

i think they probably have quite a bit of pain in thier life, and rather than get depressed they get angry. They feel the world's problems are everyone elses fault, as they are a good person, so letting off steam of thier anger, and punishing those who make the earth worse, makes them feel relieved. thats how i feel. big psychosis
