Yes, I enjoy living in a multi-racial, multi-cultural society. Although it makes daily life a little more difficult (you have to be more conscious of your surroundings) it also makes life more interesting. I love to see interracial couples, and I wish they were more common. The blend of cultures or ideas is what really makes things special. If you go to a very fancy restaurant, it may or may not blend cultures when it comes to the food, but the dishes will be sure to affect your taste buds in different ways. One dish might be very sweet, one mild, and one tart. Also, they'll be displayed in different ways on a plate. Even in a uni-cultural society, life can be interesting if everyone comes up with different ideas or focuses on different hobbies from the general population (acting, sports, writing, etc.) The more different we are from each other, the more comprehensive our society is, and the better we are. By helping ourselves, we are helping our communities.
Hope this helps :)

I think a multi-cultural society is an excellent way to live. Most South East Asian countries have that priviliege. In Thailand for example, racial segregation is at minimal, very few will say I am Thai CHinese or Thai Indian, they will only say I am Thai.
In Malaysia and SIngapore, one of the best examples I can think of for Cultural integration that resulted in a beautiful community is the Baba and Nyonya tradition which is a beautiful blend of Chinese and Malays cultural values.
Their Food is considered one of the best by the Malaysians and Singaporeans, and they retain many of the Malay traditional values and yet, not lose any of their Chinese Qualities in the process.
on the flip side, it is only when the harmony is disrupted, then hell breaks lose... ie May 13th incident in Malaysia, but so far that has only occured once, and the people are working towards healing the pain and re-harmonising again...
The People is the Effort, The People is the STrengthThe People is Power of Change and Healing.

Don't most of us already live in a multi-racial/ multi-cultural society? Do you mean have more of a mix than it is already? Most of us have different cultural backgrounds even if we aren't different races. There is always an adjustment period when more cultures come into a society. You hope that it's making things better.

I do! Just on my block alone we have Irish, Indian, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Welsh and German families. You wouldn't believe the amazing range of food that people bring when we have a block party! And we've had such interesting conversations about everyone's respective cultures that we're considering forming a neighborhood tour group for a different country every summer. How cool is that?!

We do. We, our clan, are similar to anthropologist & Traders in wisdoms. We explored different people, customs, and enjoyed being welcomed and we (stat clan of 4) are nesting at the moment. We are stat as we are discovering what works best. In our communities, we have a wide range of ethnic peoples, similar to the Toltec Society, Tibbetians, Samarians, which were scolar societies of scientist and artists who invent, create or research into the essence of spirit to bring the unlimited/invisible to humankind in tangible form. So our clan is small and our community is small but we share information and so far it is not chaos. It is quite stimulating and enjoyable. Gatherings, markets, talks, bragging stories, jokes, games, play.

I am not sure what you mean by the question. We do all ready. So, yes...We learn from each other. Our country is made up of many different cultures...and most of us are from "somewhere" originally. The only true American is the native American Indian. My maternal side can be traced back to Plymouth Rock...but my paternal side came here as immigrants...or I wouldn't be here.

Yes....our differences are what makes us a whole. We all have the same color blood. That's why I love this country, all the different cultures and races living together, as peacefully as we can. I wish it was MORE peaceful.

we do and it causes nothing but problems. I wish everyone would say they are an American and not a blank-American.
All the multi cultural thing does is separate us from each other, and that breeds distrust and anxiety.
