It's not just easier - it's BLISS!
Think about it. If everything is already decided, then you don't have to figure things out. You don't have to work at things. Which is especially good if you know you're not to great at that kind of work. Indeed - those who you might otherwise resent are instead useless! Who wouldn't go for a system that turned their weaknesses into strengths?
There's always continuity too. Lather, rinse, repeat. It's all the same, always has been, and always will be. Usually the ignorant are part of a tradition - something larger than themselves which gives them a sense of importance. While most learning would tell them that they are insignificant specks in a grand, grand scheme, they instead get to feel that they're the primary torch-bearer in a marathon race. Another winning position, for them.
And instead of feeling powerless in many situations, they can simply re-arrange their priorities so those situations are unimportant and meaningless ones are now important. Who cares about the state of the government when you can passively observe a sporting event? What difference does pollution make as long as you can purchase the latest fashions?
Those are my thoughts, anyway. People like their soma.

I think that's sometimes true. It's a lot easier to point our finger at other people and at outside circumstances than at ourselves and what we might be able to do to make a difference for ourselves. A victim mentality relives us of responsibility.
But I don't think it's always true. Real change of thinking takes a lot of work and some help along the way. And it takes some success. People who have never succeeded begin to believe that they never can. People who have always depended on welfare can't see that they would be better off working, even if they don't have as much as some others. I think a lot of attitude is taught from childhood and ingrained. So, it's lazy thinking and in that respect easier--just go with the flow--but it's harder in the long run because they never really develop as full grown men and women.

Astute observation. The short answer is "Yes". Most people tend to be mentally and emotionally lazy as well as a bit cowardly. Oftentimes people find it easier and more comfortable to stay snuggled down in the ignorance they're familiar with than to run the risk of being confronted with an uncomfortable truth. However I believe that this is a learned habit. Most small children tned to be motivated by an undaunted and questing curiosity. So the real questions are how do we come to lose that quality and how can we reawaken it in ourselves?

Imho, it's because people can be rather lazy & they tend to procrastinate. By the time they 'get around to it', they've lost interest in educating themselves. That's just one reason. I also think that some people would rather not take responsibility for themselves. If they can plead ignorance, it makes a very convenient excuse for hiding behind. I'm just glad that ignorance is not acceptable in a court of law situation.
Another big reason is that I don't think many people actually care about much of anything outside their immediate concerns. The ability to think, to reason, to expand their horizons, just isn't something they want to do because it doesn't really 'pertain to them'.
I think the world would be a whole lot better off if people came out of the comfort zones of their own sandboxes. Again, it's just my opinion. :)

i imagine you're going about this the incorrect way. you do not could be counted on their faith, yet because you're nonetheless residing of their abode and your mothers and fathers more effective than likely purchase your nutrition, clothing, toothpaste, etc., you nonetheless ought to do what they say for the most section. Wait till you're 18 and then you're able to do even with you go with. the garments you position on isn't as a lot as a religious ingredient because it is your figure's regulations. They pay on your clothing, why could they pay for garments they don't approve of you wearing? in case you really choose your mothers and fathers to allow you do what you go with, you want to reveal them you favor to be more effective like an adult truly of merely complaining like a common teen. try frivolously explaining for your mothers and fathers what you go with your new criteria to be and why you go with them to be that way. do not get indignant and yell or cry, merely stay calm no matter if or not they don't see issues your way. that's no longer certain to artwork, yet they could let some issues slide in the adventure that they imagine you're literally not merely being an out of control daughter. 15 years previous is particularly youthful for a bikini with the help of ways, i'm confident you'll thank them about that later down the line.

By the definition itself, people aren't aware when they are ignorent (since they are obviously ignorant of this fact) - and, therefore, they don't see themselves as "victims." Often times it is just the blind acceptance of what we are taught and read and exposed to without really spending the effort to try and discern the truth for ourselves. Sad, but unfortunately true.

Of course it is. Ignorance is bliss. All you have to worry about is being fed, clothed, drunk and laid. The brainless cud spewed by the television takes care of the rest. If there are any problems, blame them on {insert minority here}. I wish I could live like that...

I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say ignorance, but probably there aren't many people who feel they are ignorant, so of course they will remain in their rut. Those who feel truly ignorant about something admit it so they can learn.
