Why does the Maury show ONLY do shows about "you are (NOT) the father"?

Question

First question, why is that the only topic on his show? Second, how do the guests not know that they're on the show for that reason? have they been living in a cave for the last 10 years? If I were invited to be a guest on the show, I would obviously know what it's about. But my main question is still why does the Maury show always have the same topic?

i agree it needs to be cancelled. he used to have meaningful shows about a decade ago. i dont know if i agree with the statement that it brings in ratings? i can't imagine people out there wanting to watch that day in and day out.

i was exaggerating when i said ONLY. i know he does other shows (maybe a handful of topics), but the vast majority of them are the "daddy" shows.

i'm sure it isn't but sometimes i feel like the show is set up just to be more dramatic. what do you think?

That's a good question! He actually used to be a semi-respected journalist (I mean, look, he's married to Connie Chung). But his trashy topics must get him good ratings, because he does seem to focus pretty much on that one subject.

It totally turns me off. I refuse to watch him or any other similar shows. I'd rather watch judge shows that at least teach me something.

I know right to test 30 men for one baby come girls wright down on a calender. Some of these women are like i am 1,0000000 sure hes the daddy, then Maury say "YOU ARE NOT THE FATHER". the they scream and run off the stage. To fix the problem stop sleeping with everyone.and the family.

I think it's sad how many women are on that show. Seriously how many guys do some of these women sleep with in a month?? I don't want to be judgemental, but I feel so bad for those babies. It must really suck to have a mom that slept around so much that she is not sure who is the father of her child.

i happen to like the Maury show. i like seeing people get proved wrong. And yes he does other shows, although most are the baby daddy ones. Just the other day he had a show on where people got to reveal their crushes.

I have asked myself that questions a hundred times, but the only answer I can come up with is apparently someone out there likes it. He is meeting the viewing needs of a large demographic of folks who enjoy seeing child after child being humiliated by their parents. (Poor kids, what in the world are we doing to the next generation.)

he has a few different topics but stays with the "daddy" shows because people love those and they bring in the big rating!

Good point. I've tried to make this suggestion but when you go to his show's website , they don't allow you to post any opinion. i want him to build a swimming pool in his backstage so all those women who run backstage crying have a safe landing.(diving). They all end up diving in the couch or on the floor. Dive in a pool would be much safer. LOL

well actually i never thought of that but its really funny when they talk smack then they find out they are not the father and they do need to change the topic either its this or its about cheating spouses and boyfriends/girlfriends

I guess because there's many people that like to watch that crap. He used to have a good show, but when he started with the current programs it just fell apart for me.
