where do i find the serial numbeer on a honda trx500fa?

please i need help with this

Stand in front of the quad. There are 2 frame tubes about 12" apart, going from the handlebars down the to the very front of the quad. There's a flat piece of metal attached to both frame tubes. right where the tubes bend. The vin is on that flat piece of metal. It's easier to read with a flashlight and maybe a mirror.

It should be on the neck of the frame
