Tiger barbs are semi agressive the do best with other semi agressive fish such as cherry barbs. They also do well with Neons and Tetras. Keep away from fish with long pretty tails and fins such as guppies and mollies. They like to munch on them.

10 gallons is too small for tigers (believe me, if they could go in a 10 I would have them!). But they are very active, aggressive fish and need a large tank! At least a 20.
If you still insist on putting them in a 10, there will not be enough room for other fish. Tigers need a school of at least 6-8 and that will really fill up the tank. Other fish might get picked on especially in such a small tank.

Nothing. Those fish are:

a) Aggressive towards smaller fish, especially in small spaces without enough shelter.
b)Capable of growing to be 3-6 inches EACH. As such, if you have more than one tiger barb in that tank, you are overstocked and risk doing damage to your fish's health. And if you don't have more than one barb in there, you're being cruel to your fish. They are schooling fish, and should be kept in groups of six or more.

To the person suggesting community fish, please, shut up. Tiger barbs are notorious for eating their tankmates.

just about any type of community fish. The majority of the community fish seem to be some sort of barb or tetra. Neons, Painted Glass, Tri Color Shark, Tin Foil Shark, Guppies etc etc etc. (algae eaters, catfish...)

Nothing. Those things are very aggressive especially in such a small tank! My dad had to keep his completely isolated because the tiny thing killed everything it got close to.
