The pets expansion is coming out in October. If you are looking for new themes for your game, I would suggest checking out http://www.modthesims2.com , they have different themes ranging from medieval to retroville (black and white like the old tv shows), simstones (flintstones), etc. I think their themes are better than the addons (not expansions) from EA Games (addons like family fun pack and holiday pack... and the glamour pack... don't even know if that one is out yet or not).

There's an items expansion pack for 'glam' items, I think it's called High Life or something. There's a true expansion pack as well for pets.
You can have a dog, cat, bird, fish, guinea pig or iguana. The cats and dogs you can totally create yourself like you would a sim, and register the breed. So things like Labradoodles are possible, or even completely made up dogs and cats.

What do you think. Sims is making the companies millions. All they have to do is put out some half***ed expansion pack every few months. And a new game every few years. They are going to suck the Sims franchise dry. If it will ever dry.
