rips off easier - top just unspools
As King we believe in fairness and equality. The Queen knows best which way the roll must be placed, fed from top or from bottom, corners folded into a point or left square. For a King to decide this could be seen as a challenge to the Queen who would feel as if she were being forced into a specific role. For the King to load the toilet paper top fed could suggest the Queen is dominant and overbearing, and the King would appear weak before his subjects in the lands of Modern Mechanic, Sports Illustrated, and Good Hunting. This is not say that the Queen is overbearing or dominant, but far be it for the King to imply it.
Alternately, the King does not want to suggest that the Queen is not of equal stature by placing the roll of toilet paper bottom fed. That would just make us royal jerks.

Toilet paper when unrolled from the top, people use more, when unrolled from the bottom, people use less.
It is a physiological issue used motels to cut down on the consumption of toilet paper therefore reducing the cost to the motel owner.
It also works at home. Great when you have teenagers at home.
So now you have another class project to work on to see if this idea holds up in the home of your classmates.
Do not inform the family, just switch it and see how long it will last.

Top down.
However, for awhile I loaded the roll in my kids bathroom so it would roll from the bottom up. It helped keep them from unrolling gigantic wads of paper until they got a feel for how much it takes to do the job right.

Female : I am unaware of wich way it unrolls. I am simply happy to have remembered to buy some before the last roll runs out...
I dont care wich way it comes off the roll...

If you have a cat, load from the bottom. Cats love to play with anything and will unroll a whole roll of tp batting it in their playfulness, if it is loaded from the top.

I am a female and I always load it so it comes off the bottom at home and at work I load it so it come of the top

Male - I load it top with tissue unrolling from the front.
